Teatr Muzyczny of Lodz, also known as the Lodz Operetta, dates back to the year 1945. Back then a group consisting of newly-arrived artists from the Theater of Musical Comedy The Lute from Vilnius was created. After several changes of venue, since the mid 1960’s the Lodz Operetta has been located in building in Północna Street which was constructed for this purpose. Teatr Muzyczny’s repertoire includes classic and modern musicals, including rock opera Tramp created in collaboration with rock musicians from the band Normalsi.
