Cafes and pastry shops

There are many different types of cafes in Łódź: from speciality cafes, through family ones, cafes in park, shopping malls or housing estates. The main concentration area of cafes is Piotrkowska Street. It is worth visiting the backyards, because cafe lovers can find unique gems there. You will also find cafes in Manufaktura, OFF Piotrkowska Center, in the shopping malls, in hotels and many other places.

Specialty cafes at Piotrkowska Street

These kind of coffee shop is currently the most desired and most popular type of cafes. In a specialty cafes, you can drink coffee brewed using alternative methods: drip or aeropress. Example of this type of cafes at Piotrkowska Street are:

  • Szykier (1/3 Północna St. - 5 minutes walk from Piotrkowska),

Cafes in Księży Młyn

Księży Młyn is a former factory and residential complex built in the 19th century. Nowadays it’s the space for design, art and culture. You will also find trendy cafes there. A cafe with its own roastery is located at 16 Księży Młyn and is called Coffehood. In the heart of Źródliska Park you will find Tubajka family cafe. A little further there is another cafe in park, inside the Palm House, a coffee shop called Kawiarnia Palmiarnia.

Cafes in Manufaktura

Manufaktura, another post-industrial complex, nowadays is a cultural, shopping and entertainment center. Of course you will find several interesting cafes there. Right next to the main market are: Manuarte Cafeteria, Chude Ciacho (healthy fit menu), Szpulka and well known to everyone Costa Coffee or the largest Starbucks in Poland. 

Cafes outside the center

It is impossible to list here all, even the most interesting cafes in Łódź. But there are also cafes outside the city center. For example in Monopolis - a former vodka factory - there is Mono Cafe (62 Kopcińskiego St.), a great cafe for both a business meeting and a date. In Geyer Gardens there is Obiecana Cafe - a very atmospheric place perfect for Friday concerts. It is a coffee shop decorated in a post-industrial style, dominated by red brick. Fabryka Śniadań (26/28 Rzgowska St.) is a perfect place - a combination of good coffee, amazing breakfasts and tasty desserts. In Stare Polesie district, we can drink good coffee at Morning (46 Żeligowskiego St.).

Coffee shop in housing estates

You can also drink a good coffee far from the center - in the housing estates of Łódź. It is worth mentioning here, first of all, Prosto z Mostu café (Retkinia, 25 Wyszyńskiego Av.) and the Tukawka Café (Radogoszcz, 53 Nastrojowa St.).
