In order to emphasize the city’s connection with the Polish film and cinema, the very heart of the city – Piotrkowska Street – was selected to become the pavement of the Polish equivalent of the Hollywood’s Walk of Fame – Lodz Walk of Fame (sometimes called Alley of Stars). The first to unveil his star was the renowned Polish actor, Andrzej Seweryn, one of the lead actors in the movie inextricably linked with Lodz, Andrzej Wajda’s “The Promised Land”. Wojciech Pszoniak, Daniel Olbrychski (other lead actors) and the director of this fascinating movie, Andrzej Wajda, have also unveiled their stars on the Walk of Fame.
The Lodz Walk of Fame includes over 90 stars and this number is constantly growing. On the even (east) side of the alley, there are the stars of directors and cameramen, whereas on the uneven side you can find the stars dedicated to actors. The Alley is on Piotrkowska Street on the section between 6 Sierpnia and Traugutta streets and the Rubinstein Passage. Currently new stars are being addec in the section leading to Zielona and Narutowicza streets.
