While exploring the fascinating premises of Księży Młyn - the former empire of Lodz's richest industrialist Karol Scheibler - it is also worth visiting the Academic Design Centre (ACD), which brings together design faculties from eight public art academies. The ACD is organisationally under the authority of the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. There is a good chance that you will come across an inspiring exhibition or a craft and design fair. The main purpose of the Academic Design Centre is to create optimal conditions for cooperation between business and education - through joint research, development and design work.
At the same time, the ACD's mission is to proactively popularise Polish design, co-create its contemporary image and promote Polish manufacturing. The Academic Design Centre undoubtedly has the potential to become a platform connecting the world of business with the world of education, which will measurably contribute to increasing the competitiveness and attractiveness of design studies at Polish art schools.
