In order to emphasize the city’s connection with the Polish film and cinema, the very heart of the city – Piotrkowska Street – was selected to become the pavement of the Polish equivalent of the Hollywood’s Walk of Fame – Lodz Alley of Stars. The first to unveil his star was the renowned Polish actor, Andrzej Seweryn, one of the lead actors in the movies inextricably linked with Lodz, Andrzej Wajda’s “The Promised Land”. Wojciech Pszoniak, Daniel Olbrychski and the director of this fascinating movie based on the novel of Władysław Reymont, Andrzej Wajda, have also unveiled their stars in the Alley of Stars.
The Alley of Stars of the Lodz Walk of Fame, as this is its full name, includes over 65 stars and this number is constantly growing. On the even (east) side of the alley, there are the stars of directors and cameramen, whereas on the uneven side you can find the stars dedicated to actors. The Alley is on Piotrkowska Street on the section between 6 Sierpnia and Traugutta streets and the Rubinstein Passage.
