The UNESCO City of Film Trails is intended for all film lovers who would like to get to know the cinematic history of Lodz and visit the places where the most important Polish films were shot. This is a great opportunity to discover the cinematic heritage of Lodz - a city that is part of the UNESCO Network of Creative Cities. There are two routes to choose from.
The first is Oscar Lodz, which introduces you to Polish films that have won American Academy Award nominations. All of them were filmed in Lodz! This carefully planned route can be followed in its entirety in the suggested order, or you can choose specific locations that interest you.
The second route is called Tracing the Oscar Creators and presents colourful profiles of Polish filmmakers associated with Łódź. The time has come to meet the Polish winners of the Oscars and see this legendary statuette for yourself. It's time to learn more about Pawel Pawlikowski, Agnieszka Holland, Andrzej Wajda and Zbigniew Rybczynski. You will also get to know the profiles of other masters of Polish cinematography. You will see Lodz through the eyes of a filmmaker.
