Tomaszowska Okrąglica is an extremely attractive area located in the picturesque bends of the Pilica River. Its resources include: Nagórzyckie Caves, the Pilica River Open-Air Museum and the Nature Reserve known as "Blue Springs". When planning a trip to this area, it is worth reserving a whole day.
Of note are the caves left from the excavations of the former sand mine with an area of 3,720 m². During the modernization in 2012, an underground tourist route was created here, approximately 160 m long, which is diversified by exhibits and replicas of tools referring to the times when the mine was operating. The facility is available for tours only with a guide. A walk along the route lasts about 45 minutes at a temperature of up to about 10 °C.
An interesting point of the trip is the Pilica River Open-Air Museum - a unique museum facility dedicated to the river and the space it has shaped by its presence in the region. Among the objects worth seeing are mobile models of mills with a collection of millstones, an armoured artillery tractor "Lufcik", a 100-year-old work barge or a folding kayak JANTAR. The collection is additionally enhanced by memorabilia from the times of the tsarist Spała.
In the vicinity of the open-air museum, there is the "Blue Springs" nature reserve – an exceptionally charming area for lovers of walks in the bosom of nature. Karst springs surrounded by riparian forest inhabited by numerous birds are protected here, and numerous information boards inform about the values. A walk, although attractive at any time of the year, is worth planning on a sunny day. The water then takes on a beautiful azure colour.
