Museum of the Factory

Have you already seen the vast Manufaktura? Has the lavishness of Izrael Poznański’s Palace astonished you? Are you wondering how this unremarkable merchant came into such wealth? The Museum of the Factory will answer all those questions.

Through modern multimedia-filled means, it will tell you how a self-sufficient district was created, what its development, textile production technique, and everyday lives of its workers looked like.

Poznański’s Factory is one the biggest machine parks in Lodz, and some of them can be found in the Museum. When they are set in motion, you can feel like a worker from a 19th century factory, you won’t even hear your own thoughts…

You will also see what journey the cotton T-shirt you are wearing had to make to get from the field to the shop.

Museum of the Factory is managed by Grupa Fabricum, a Lodz-based company which renders tourist services in the city of textile workers. It manages the Factory Museum and has stimulated its activities from the day it was opened.

Apart from managing the Museum, Grupa Fabricum specializes in the organization of tours around Lodz, serviced by licensed tour guides who speak various foreign languages. The guides often wear period outfits during tours. Some other activities of Grupa Fabricum include the organization of role-play games and events.
