The School Youth Hostel is situated in the very center of the city in a historical building of an elementary school from 1923 and revitalized in 2012 as part of the MIA100 Tenement Houses program.
The facility welcomes individual tourists and organized groups. Close vicinity of Piotrkowska Street, Manufaktura, museums, and former factory owners’ empires encourages visitors to discover the “Promised Land”. The hostel guarantees high room standard, similar to that of hotel rooms, as well as professional staff. All the rooms feature comfortable beds, closets, night stands, tables, chairs, lamps, and TV sets. The facility offers 25 rooms which have a total accommodation capacity of 72.
PTSM and IYHE members have the right to a 10 % discount upon presentation of a valid card, whereas the holders of the “Distinguished Tourism Activist” or “PTSM Gold Badge” have the right to a 50 % discount at the SYH in Lodz.
Guests have at their disposal a large conference room which can seat 40 people (equipped with an interactive board, sound system, and a TV set), educational games, folders, guides, maps of Lodz and its surroundings, Wi-Fi, fully equipped self-service kitchen, launderette, luggage storage, picturesque garden with a grill, interior parking space for 15 cars (PLN 12/day) and minibuses (PLN 16/day).
The Hostel offers groups free-of-charge assistance with the organization of their stay (planning the stay, booking entrance tickets), full board (catering), i.e. breakfast (PLN 10/person), dinner (PLN 15/person) and supper (PLN 10/person), as well as provision of guide services.
The facility also organizes free-of-charge educational classes in the area of history and culture of Lodz and its region, after previous arrangements made by writing to szkolneschronisko@gmail.com. SYH has a status of an educational facility and meets high standards of safety and hygiene.
